D-amino acid oxidase is a typical flavin protease with flavin adenine (FAD) as a prosthetic group. It can oxidize the amino group of D-amino acid to form the corresponding keto acid and ammonia. Due to its high stereoselectivity and broad spectrum of catalytic reaction substrates, it can be widely used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of D-amino acids, biosensors, and production of L-amino acids and α-keto acids.
